This neighborhood is a popular commercial and residential district for people from all walks of life. Residents enjoy its proximity to local shopping and dining. Many students from USC and UCLA live in the area, as well as professionals and families. However, some neighborhoods are a bit less developed than others.

One development that is under consideration in the Van Nuys neighborhood is a 120-unit apartment building. A development application was submitted by Alliant Strategic Development, a Los Angeles-based company. Located at the northeastern corner of Van Nuys Boulevard and Vose Street, the project would rise five stories and span nearly 200,000 square feet. There are currently 94 studio, 83 two-bedroom, and 155 one-bedroom apartments proposed for the project. Additional features include a courtyard, a roof deck, and 174 bicycle parking spaces.

Another development in the works is a 214-unit mixed-use building. The project is planned for the site of 12519-1439 W. Sylvan Street. If approved, the building would have ground floor retail space. The development will be about a quarter mile south of the Sherman Way Metro Station.

Another new development in the works is the East San Fernando Light Rail Project. This rail line is expected to begin construction in 2022, and will run from the Sylmar Metrolink station to the Van Nuys G Line station. Since the construction of the light rail is expected to decrease traffic congestion in the area, it is expected to bring people to the area quicker than they can drive.

Van Nuys, Los Angeles is a vibrant city with a lot to offer. Some things to do in the area include biking and walking through the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area. Other parks include the Valley Glen Community Park and Slavin Park. Also, the area is home to a number of local coffee shops and restaurants. These include Yogurtland, Mercado Buenos Aires, and Nat’s Early Bite Coffee Shop.

Although the average price for housing in Van Nuys is slightly higher than the average for the rest of the LA area, the region is relatively affordable. Homes in the area are less expensive than those in the central part of the city. As with any neighborhood, it is important to know what to look for before purchasing a home. For example, some residents opt for quiet, suburban homes while others prefer walkable cities and open spaces.

Other factors that influence a person’s decision to purchase a home are the demographics of the neighborhood and the schools. If you are planning to move to the Van Nuys area, be sure to do your homework before making a decision.

You may also want to consider the quality of the air in the area. In 2020, the air quality in the Van Nuys area was rated at 36 for the pollutant PM2.5.
